Course overview

Quality of life (QOL) is a multidimensional concept that is influenced by a variety of conditions, including the patient¿s mental and physical health, social relationships, functional status, personal beliefs, and environment. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of administering the WHOQOL-OLD to assess QOL among older adults, including those facets of QOL measured by the WHOQOL-OLD that are determined to be of particular concern to older adults, potential uses for an assessment of the older patient¿s perspective of his/her QOL, and the approximate method for scoring the WHOQOL-OLD. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
