SCOPES AND STANDARDS OF PRACTICE IN INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES NURSING

Course overview

This course will provide registered nurses with a knowledge and understanding of the unique set of practice scopes and standards as formalized by the American Nursing Association. Registered nurses will individually review each component and learn how to practically assess and apply each part to their role as a registered nurse supporting people with I/DD. As nurses progress through this session they will learn the components of a nursing plan, as well as administrative roles and policies in delegation, as defined by the DC Nurse Practice Act.
