Course overview

Endogenous dinoprostone is a naturally occurring prostaglandin that functions as a local hormone and is rapidly metabolized. Dinoprostone (Cervidil¿, Prepidil¿, Prostin E2¿) is a U.S. FDA-approved vaginal synthetic prostaglandin that is administered as a local application to the cervix. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of the administration of dinoprostone, including indications, adverse effects, administration routes, and dosing guidelines. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
