RESTRAINTS, PHYSICAL: APPLYING IN ADULTS

Course overview

A physical restraint is any device applied to a patient with the intent to immobilize the patient or prevent the patient from moving his or her arms, legs, head, or body freely. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of applying physical restraints to adults, including information on how to apply restraints, considerations of patient safety when applying restraints, and guidelines for restraint use. Information for patient and/or family education is included. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
