Tracking # 20-472973
Course overview
The majority of people with aphasia experience impairment in reading (alexia) and writing (agraphia). Moreover, many PWA lose their familiarity with a keyboard and screen. In today¿s world of touch screens, ATM, emails and texts, etc, this places an additional, imposing communication barrier for PWA. This course explores Alexia-Agraphia treatment philosophy and rationale while keeping in mind the optimal exploitation of neural plasticity. Current traditional treatment programs such as ACT, CART and MOR will be discusses before moving on to treatment modules in the Brain Compatible Aphasia Treatment Program. These modules include keyboarding, flash spelling and propositional spelling.
