Course overview
TKA is a surgical procedure in which the tibial, femoral, and patellar joint surfaces are replaced with an artificial joint that is cemented to or otherwise attached to the femur and tibia of the affected leg. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of providing preoperative care to the patient undergoing TKA including clinical presentation, risk factors, and outcome data, treatment goals, and to aid in caring for the patient with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
