Course overview

Quality of life (QOL) is a multidimensional concept that is influenced by a variety of conditions, including the patient¿s mental or physical health, social relationships, functional status, personal beliefs, and environment. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of administering the WHOQOL-HIV instruments to assess QOL, including the characteristics affecting QOL of particular relevance to PLWHA measured by the WHOQOL-HIV instruments, potential uses for an assessment of the patient¿s perspective of his/her QOL, and the approximate method for scoring the WHOQOL-HIV instruments. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
