The primary goal of the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society symposia is to provide a forum for professional growth and development of the participants. This 20 CEU applied meeting is intended for a wide audience of health care providers involved in advanced wound care management, hyperbaric and undersea medicine, including the registered nurse, nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, physical therapist, physician, physician's assistant, podiatrist/foot and ankle surgeon, certified hyperbaric technologist, certified hyperbaric registered nurse and others. Specifically, the goals for the attendees include having better knowledge of the current state of the art for hyperbaric medicine and wound care; being able to identify the UHMS HBO2 Indications; discuss treatment guidelines and utilization parameters and evaluate patients and conduct treatment for the UHMS accepted clinical indications. Additionally, those attending should be able to discuss with their clinical colleagues the appropriate approach to patient care in a hyperbaric and wound care situations; use a multi-disciplinary approach to hyperbaric patient care; demonstrate knowledge and competence in the clinical setting and discuss new indications for hyperbaric medicine and implement them in their clinical practices.
