MANDATED CHILD ABUSE RECOGNITION & REPORTING

Course overview

This past April, the Pennsylvania legislature passed Act 31 of 2014 amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) known as the Child Protective Services Law. These amendments go into effect December 31, 2014. Included in these amendments are requirements that all mental health mandated child abuse reporters applying for the renewal of a license or certification obtain two hours of Dept. of Public Welfare (DPW) approved continuing education (CE) before their 2015 renewal. Persons applying for a license or certification must obtain three hours of approved CE. This training is designed to fulfill the requirements for mental health professionals to obtain 2-3 hours of DPW and professional board approved continuing education on current Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting.
