Course overview

Abdominal injury is defined as trauma to the organs and other structures located between the diaphragm and the pelvis, including the spleen, liver, small and large intestines, kidneys, pancreas, stomach, gallbladder, and urinary bladder. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of the injury associated with blunt trauma to the abdomen, including treatment goals and potential complications, and to aid in caring for patients with this type of injury. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
