Course overview
AD is a progressive disease in which the severity of symptoms increases over time leading to cognitive dysfunction, memory loss, difficulty with spoken language, and behavioral manifestations such as depression and agitation, overall functional disability, and loss of independence with activities of daily living (ADLs). This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of AD, including risk factors and predictors of increased health care cost, and to aid in caring for the patient with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
