Course overview

In the world of the medical facility the relationship between the Operating Room and the Sterile Processing Department is critical to ensure that the patient receive the best care possible. The Operating Room is the heart of the hospital and Sterile Processing is the heartbeat. If either one stops in their functioning it can create a disastrous outcome for the surgical patients. Teamwork with the Sterile Processing Department throughout the entire facility is very important. The Sterile Processing Department is the front line for ensuring a patient does not receive a Hospital Associated Infection.
