Course overview
Preservation of forensic evidence (i.e., items and physical findings collected and noted during care of a patient who has been involved in a crime, either as victim or perpetrator) is the process of protecting evidence from damage or alteration, which is essential to promote its admissibility in court. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of preserving forensic evidence, including why this is important and key steps involved. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
