Course overview

Approximately 28,000 people in the United States received organ transplants in 2012, and over 22,000 of those patients received organs from nonliving donors. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of the process involved in identifying nonliving potential organ donors, including criteria that must be met for organ donation to be considered, and to aid in providing end-of-life care for the potential nonliving organ donor. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
