PATIENT EDUCATION: EVALUATING EFFECTIVENESS

Course overview

Patient education, an integral part of quality patient care, involves the process of assessing learning needs, developing learning objectives, planning and implementing patient education, evaluating patient learning, and documenting the teaching/learning. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of evaluating the effectiveness of patient education including how to evaluate effectiveness, why this is important, outcome data, and to aid in caring for the patient with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
