Course overview
Skin traction is the noninvasive use of weights attached to the skin for the purpose of indirectly applying a specific amount of pulling force on the underlying soft tissues and bone. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of applying adhesive or nonadhesive skin traction, including how to apply the traction, why traction is applied, and potential complications of adhesive and nonadhesive skin traction, and to aid in caring for the patient requiring this treatment. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
