BLACK PATIENTS: PROVIDING CULTURALLY COMPETENT CARE TO PATIENTS WITH MENTAL HEALTH DISORDERS

Course overview

Culturally competent care of Black patients with mental health disorders is holistic and incorporates appropriate cultural beliefs, attitudes, and traditions when planning and providing care. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of providing CC care to Black patients with mental health disorders, including the importance of CC care, cultural factors that impact the experience and treatment of Black patients with mental health disorders, and how to effectively provide CC care to Black patients with mental health disorders. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
