Course overview

One of the most devastating complications of descending thoracic or thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm (TAA) repair is paraplegia resulting from spinal ischemia secondary to aortic clamping during surgery. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of how to manage an LDD following TAA repair and to aid in caring for patients requiring this therapeutic intervention. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
