Course overview
Total hip arthroplasty (THA)is the surgical replacement of a damaged and/or malformed ball and socket of the hip joint. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of providing preoperative care to patients undergoing THA, including strategies for assessing and promoting social, psychological, and physical readiness for the scheduled THA, and to aid in caring for the patient who is undergoing THA. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
