Course overview

Over the last two decades, obstructive sleep apnea(OSA) has been identified as both a public health risk for increased motor vehicle accidents and resultant injury or death, as well as a significant risk factor for high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke. As the healthcare industry evolves, significant market changes require implementation of new paradigms. With the enactment of the Affordable care act, and the increase in public and private sector demand for preventive healthcare products, the rehabilitation industry must respond with viable products to meet market demand. In this course, participants are exposed to new concepts in the prevention and treatment of OSA for the rehab professional, and are educated in utilization of outcomes based examination tools that are valid and reliable to create intervention strategies to effectively reduce/prevent OSA. Participants are also introduced to current concepts in marketing and clinical implementation for OSA treatment and prevention products.
