Course overview

This course will equip the clinician with the necessary knowledge and skills to examine and treat most patients with vestibular pathology with little to no equipment. Many therapists are daunted by the idea of incorporating vestibular rehabilitation (VR) into their practice. VR seems complex, difficult to understand, and expensive. Access to costly equipment, in depth knowledge of obscure diagnostic tests, and complicated hands on skills makes this arena of therapy unapproachable by many. Vestibular rehab is actually very easy to understand and apply, given a basic knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system, and an understanding of the evaluation and treatment techniques. This course will provide a structured and simple approach to examining and treating most common vestibular pathology. It will accomplish this by outlining the relevant anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system, common conditions affecting it, and low cost basic techniques for evaluation and treatment.
