Course overview
This course focuses on the physical therapy interventions used to progress individuals with spinal cord injury through the rehabilitation process to optimal health and independence. Emphasis is placed on updating spinal cord injury interventions by focusing on current research, technology and practice. Video presentations are included to enhance understanding and employment of interventions for both physiological and functional ambulation, functional mobility and mat skills, and uses of current technologies (functional electrical stimulation for gait training and cardiovascular conditioning) to promote improved health that can be implemented in a standard clinical setting.
