1. Indicate neuropsychiatric complications of HIV infection of the brain and central nervous system. 2. Discuss current treatment options for these patients. 3. Identify potential drug-to-drug interactions relevant to the use of psychotropic medications with antiretroviral therapy regimens. 4. Discuss the importance of practitioners utilizing the cytochrome P450 system, or liver enzyme system, when prescribing both psychiatric medications and antiretroviral therapy regimens concurrently.
