Ethics Issues And Decision Making In Occupational Therapy

Course overview

Every year occupational therapy practitioners are cited by the AOTA Ethics Commission for violations of one or more of the principles and standards set forth in the AOTA professional code of ethics. The consequences of the violations may have a significant impact on their clients their reputation their careers and their livelihood depending on the severity of the violation. This basic-level course provides occupational therapy practitioners with an introduction to the study of ethical behavior and action as it is applied to occupational therapy practice education and research. It is designed to facilitate learning and using the ethical principles required to foster moral reasoning and to practice ethical decision making in occupational therapy.
