DIVERTICULITIS: DIET

Course overview

Diverticula are herniations that occur in the mucosa and submucosa of the colon. When diverticula are present the condition is referred to as diverticulosis. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of diverticulitis, the role of diet in both the development and resolution of the condition, and to aid in caring for patients with this diagnosis. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
