Course overview

Upon completion of this program the participant will be able understand pediatric injury as the leading cause of death and disability in children. Discuss anatomical, physiological and psychological differences between children and adults. Knowledge of the primary survey for pediatric trauma. Understand cervical spine injuries, intra-thoracic injuries and intra-abdominal injuries. Discuss pain assessment and pain management. Understand airway management and c-spine mobilization. Understand management of breathing, ventilation and oxygenation.
