PEDIATRIC FEEDING & SWALLOWING SKILL ACQUISITION AROUND DEVELOPMENTAL MILESTONES
Tracking # 20-490437
Course overview
Although there are several pediatric anatomy and physiology courses available, this course is unique as it ties in motor and developmental skill acquisition around feeding and swallowing skill acquisition. This ensures a more full understanding of the dynamic interplay of development required for infants and children to master feeding and swallowing across the age continuum safely and efficiently. Feeding and swallowing skill acquisition is reliant upon stability in other systems. By analyzing the characteristics and variables of these systems, the pediatric feeding therapist will be empowered to more appropriately treat the whole child and make the best gains possible for their patients. Lots of pictures and videos will be used to enhance learning.
