16299 FUNDAMENTALS OF HAND THERAPY: TREATING COMMON SHOULDER DIAGNOSIS

Course overview

Shoulder ain is the third most common musculoskeletal disorder behind neck and back pain. Should pain can originate from different sources and causes, and because different types of pain can call for drastically different treatment strategies, therapist must be able to evaluate and identify the origin of the pain. This course provides a brief, but thorough, discussion of the anatomy, diagnoses, evaluation tips, pathology, timelines, nonoperative and operative treatment, precautions, concerns, discussions with clients about the injury and exercise, as well as clinical "Pears" and "Tips from the field" for each of the following five shoulder condition: Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS)/Brachial Plexopathy, Proximal Humerus Fracture, Frozen Shoulder/Adhesive Capulites, Glenohumeral Instability, and Rotator Cuff Disease (RC). Course includes three case studies detailing evaluation, treatment and results of various conditions.
