16300 FUNDAMENTALS OF HAND THERAPY: TREATING COMMON ELBOW DIAGNOSIS

Course overview

The shoulder positions the hand in space, allowing it to interact with the environment. The elbow directs and facilitates this hand movement by flexion/extension and forearm rotation which allows the hand to assume various functional positions to achieve ADLs as well as work and leisure activities. This course provide a brief, but thorough, discussion of the anatomy, diagnoses, evaluation tips, pathology, timelines, non-operative and operative treatment, precautions, concerns, discussions with clients about the injury and exercise, as well as clinical "Pearls" and "Tips from the Field" for each of the following elbow diagnoses: Distal Humeral Fractures, Proximal Ulnar Fractures, Radial Head Fractures, Distal Biceps Tendon Injury. Course includes three case studies detailing evaluation, treatment and results of various conditions.
