Course overview

The ability to function in the everyday environment is essential to older individuals to maintain independence and quality of life. Changes in vision, hearing, taste, smell, and touch may deprive older adults of the sensory cues essential to accurately perceive the environment and may influence both their behavior and the behavior of others toward them. This course discusses strategies and adaptations to accommodate these changes which will promote continued independent living for older individuals and improve their overall quality of life.
