Course overview

This course takes a comprehensive look at user input devices (ex. adaptive keyboards, mouses, switches, joystick controls, etc.) to enable individuals living with a disability to interact with their environment through cell phones, computers and mobility devices. The course discusses: movements that can control an assistive device or mainstream technology electronic device, the most common ways of accommodating for lack of motor control, options for control interfaces for both direct and indirect selection, and how computer access can be adapted to meet the needs of individuals living with a disability.
