DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS

Course overview

This 2 hour course will help midwives be able to identify and help clients who are victims of domestic violence. The course will review the incidence of domestic violence, physical and psychosocial signs and symptoms of domestic violence, the cycles of domestic violence and how they manifest, risks to pregnant mother and baby, effects on children, care planning, intervention, lethality assessment, crisis and long-term intervention.
