PHYSICAL ASSESSMENT: PERFORMING A CARDIOVASCULAR ASSESSMENT IN NEONATES

Course overview

Physical assessment of the cardiovascular system (i.e., cardiovascular assessment) in neonates (i.e., newborn infants up to 6 weeks old) is performed to obtain preliminary information on the patient¿s cardiovascular functioning and to identify anatomic or pathologic abnormalities. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of the steps involved in performing a cardiovascular assessment in neonates. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
