TREATING DIGESTIVE ISSUES USING LOCAL PALPATION AND CHANNEL THEORY

Course overview

The acupuncture field places great emphasis on anatomical precision when working with muscular or structural issues regarding pain. It is well established that greater one understands the relationship between anatomy and channel energetics the more effective one will be. Often times this anatomical emphasis is not extended to the viscera, despite it being equally as effective for a variety of issues such as poor digestion. In this course, Albert Stern, an experienced practitioner shares how to locate these structures and palpate for tension, heat, stagnation or deficiency. Traditional TCM theory and channel location will be used to provide treatment protocols. Local and distal points will be used in combination. This course will allow participants to explore anatomical location major digestive organs and landmarks in detail. Structures to be reviewed include: lower esophageal sphincter, pyloric sphincter, splenic flexure, hepatic flexure, sphincter of Oddi, DJ Junction, and illiocecal valve.
