Course overview
This course is a two-part series devoted to elbow injuries specific to the overhead-throwing athlete. This part gives an overview of anatomy and describes common clinical examination techniques for the overhead-throwing athlete with elbow injuries. The course describes the functional relationships of the various joints of the elbow, the major muscle groups that guide movement patterns at the elbow, biomechanics of the throwing motion that affect the elbow, and the importance of the inert structures surrounding the elbow joint.
