FOREIGN-EDUCATED NURSES: TRANSITIONAL PROGRAMS

Course overview

Worldwide, the demand for nurses continues to grow more rapidly than the demand for personnel in other professions. Healthcare organizations commonly recruit FENs as a strategy to mitigate the nursing shortage. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of transitional programs for FENs, including information on the recruitment of FENs, common challenges during the transitional period, and information on transition programs designed to assist FENs during this period. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
