Course overview
Dr. David Wells is a chiropractor and acupuncturist with 30 years of clinical experience. In this course, Dr. Wells will help practitioners understand how to build and maintain a successful practice through providing an emotionally warm but professional environment that respects and meets the needs of our diverse patient population, office staff, and colleagues. We are in the business of serving others. The quality of our relationships depends on our internal ethical guidelines and intentions and how well we communicate. Skillful communication can make the difference between personal and financial success on the one hand or failure, even lawsuit or disciplinary action on the other. This course will cover verbal and non-verbal communication skills, legal and ethical guidelines, and continuous quality improvement through clinical reasoning and the scientific method. Case studies will be used to illustrate these points. Some time will also be devoted to understanding how to plan for long term financial success and stability. This course relates to all forms of patient communication, from taking a history to managing care, in addition to teaching the participants professional/legal responsibilities.
