Course overview

The human body is designed to move, and physical activity is essential for our health. Without movement our bodies are susceptible to a wide variety of illnesses and pathologies that are directly caused by immobility. The human body thrives on movement and it suffers when movement is not possible. As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will certainly be responsible for providing care to clients who are immobile and who are likely to be so for a long time. This module will discuss the causes and complications of prolonged, complete immobility, and the therapies used for preventing and treating complications of prolonged, complete immobility.
