Describe the lymphatic system and the sentinel lymph node concept of metastatic spread of solid tumors. 2. Describe the injection procedures, nuclear medicine imaging (lymphoscintigraphy), intraoperative lymphatic mapping and sentinel lymph node biopsy techniques. 3. Discuss how sentinel lymph node biopsy helps in the staging of cancer. 4. List the radiopharmaceuticals used for lymphatic mapping/sentinel lymph node biopsy and compare/contrast their different properties 5. Describe the nuclear medicine clinical procedure involving lymphatic mapping/sentinel lymph node biopsy 6. Discuss developments in radiopharmaceuticals and instrumentation associated with lymphatic mapping/sentinel lymph node biopsy 7. List three disease states where lymphatic mapping/imaging is valuable for patient care.
