Abdominal surgery, an operative procedure involving an incision into the abdomen, encompasses a wide variety of surgeries. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of the procedure for teaching patients about preparing for abdominal surgery, including a step-by-step process and the benefits of patient education on this topic.
