The purpose of this program is to educate the learner about scientific basis for practice. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to discuss the pathophysiology and carcinogenesis of cancer. List the three stage process for the development of cancer. Discuss the implications of immunology to cancer nursing practice. Discuss the role of DNA and RNA in the development of cancer. Describe the ethical concerns related to genetic testing.
