DISASTER RESPONSE: CARING FOR PATIENTS WITH RADIATION EXPOSURE

Course overview

Disaster response to radiation exposure (commonly referred to as a radiologic mass casualty event [MCE]) refers to interventions that are designed to treat exposed patients and minimize further exposure related to widespread contamination with radiologic material. This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of a disaster response to an MCE, and to aid in caring for the patient with radiation exposure. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
