Upon completion of this home-study course, each participant will be able to: Learn current concepts and models of problem gambling their development; Learn the biopsychosocial effects of gambling problems on individuals and families; Become aware of the epidemiology of gambling problems; Understand the impact of social policies on gambling and gambling problems; Know the signs and symptoms of gambling problems for early identification and intervention; Be aware of the implications of the various models of gambling problems regarding etiology and treatment approaches.; Become knowledgeable about the range of gambling treatment services; Learn about the impact of parental gambling problems on children; Learn about the legal and ethical issues involved in the problem gambling field; Become knowledgeable about the impact of co-morbid MH and SA disorders on problem gambling intervention and treatment options (dual diagnosis issues).
