Purpose: The goal of this course is to aide healthcare workers to identify and care for people who are victims of domestic violence. This course aims to increase the awareness of healthcare professionals by learning the warning signs, effects on adult and children, legalities, and resources available to help the victims of domestic violence. Learning Objectives: Upon completing this course, the learner will be able to: 1.Define what domestic violence means. 2.Identify potential victims and kinds of domestic violence. 3.Identify the signs and symptoms of domestic violence. 4.Describe the healthcare effects on victims of domestic violence. 5.List the legalities involve (in the state of Florida) and how to report domestic violence. 6.Discuss the different approaches to help prevent and help victims of domestic violence. 7.List community resources (Florida) for victims of domestic violence.
