Course overview

These three diseases are much more than a simple vaccine to be routinely administered. These three diseases cause significant illness and disability. As a professional nurse, it is imperative that the diseases are clearly understood, the risks identified, and steps taken to reduce the risk of illness. Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis can be prevented through the appropriate use of education and vaccinations. This course serves as a review of the history, epidemiology, symptoms, treatment, and prevention of these three serious illnesses.
