At the end of this course the learner will be able to: 1. Briefly discuss Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) induced cervical cancer and the microscopic alterations it causes. 2. Discuss the precursor lesions of cervical carcinoma, including squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma. 3. Discuss the role HPV plays in carcinogenesis, as well as, the actions between oncoproteins and their cellular target proteins. 4. List the various immunohistochemical stains used in the diagnosis of cervical intraepithelial lesions. 5. Discuss the detection of HPV through In Situ Hybridization (ISH).
