Course overview

Risk management is a proactive process that identifies, evaluates, and addresses potential and actual risk within an organization. Risk management is everyone’s responsibility and has key benefits to all long term care facilities and the residents that live in those facilities. This educational activity focuses on providing the learner with knowledge about the risk management process. The learner will understand the importance of gathering data, reporting occurrences or variances, and conducting a root cause analysis. Proper analysis and reporting are components of an effective risk management process that directly impact resident satisfaction, facility reimbursement, and facility public relations.
