Dr. Daisy Dong is an experienced cancer support practitioner and in this course, will focus on TCM support of cancer patients and explore cancer treatments in a TCM energetic framework- the yin and the yang, cold and heat of radiation and chemotherapy. The role of blood stasis, internal heat, Qi and Blood deficiency among cancer patients in the view of TCM. Etiology, pathology and diagnosis will all be examined in the view of Chinese medicine and biomedicine. Unique tongue images and pulse patterns in cancer patients. The role of TCM in its support for biomedical treatments will be examined deeply through the use of acupuncture, herbal medicine (old or new usage), and nutritional recommendations. Acupuncture & Chinese herbal medicine will be rigorously evaluated through contemporary research studies with Dr. Dong¿s point of views for their modern applications in cancer care. Case studies will be included. In Part I of this course, Dr. Dong focuses on a new concept and practice for TCM oncology and integrative oncology care, basic etiology and pathology of Cancer in TCM & biomedicine, goals and principle of treatment in biomedicine and TCM, common anti-cancer drug prescriptions and their common adverse effects, and acupuncture point selections for cancer support.
