Course overview
Osteoporosis (i.e., pathologically low bone mineral density) develops in approximately half of individuals with anorexia nervosa (AN; i.e., a life-threatening psychiatric disorder characterized by extreme, self-induced weight loss resulting in malnutrition). This continuing education module is designed to give the reader/learner an increased understanding of caring for individuals with osteoporosis due to AN. Readers may explore any or all of the topics. One contact hour of continuing education credit is available for those who successfully complete the post-test and evaluation form.
