PEDIATRIC ACUPUNCTURE & HERBS: INTEGRATIVE CHANNEL DEVELOPMENT, GI ISSUES, AND TUINA STRATEGIES

Course overview

Dr. David Miller is one of the only physicians in the U.S. dually board certified in Pediatrics and Traditional Chinese Medicine. He is one of a growing number of health professionals seeing a need in medicine for more Holistic options. In this course, Dr. Miller shares the fundamental theories core to the treatment of children, and cross-compares them with biomedical theories and practices. This course will also explore a number of major medical conditions in children from an integrative perspective, and treatment methods suited for use in the care of the pediatric patient. Considerations of human growth and development will be explored in depth, especially concepts of channel development and what this means for the field of Chinese medicine. The course will be a mix of theory and practical information. Topics in this course focus on: cross comparison of eastern and western conceptions of personhood, personality development, and introduction to Integrative Channel Theory, treatment protocols applied to the care of children, autism, asthma, and ADHD.
